BIOGRAPHY

David Vela is a digital artist, animator, and character designer based in Inglewood, California. Since high school, David has built experience in drawing and knowledge regarding both traditional and digital arts, along with starting his freelance artist journey during the start of his college years by taking commission requests from other artists and clients. He is currently studying Art with an area of concentration in 2D Animation at California State University, Northridge, and studying for a bachelor’s degree in Arts. He emphasizes character design and character writing, finding inspiration from various sources that he is interested in; from cartoons to mythologies, music, and fortune-telling superstitions, David could find character inspiration in many areas!

In his spare time, David finds references for both his future artworks and his indie project. David is currently working on a multi-part indie project animation which includes his original characters and stories with supernatural beings, action scenes, and slice of life moments. He also enjoys spending time listening to music, talking with friends and fellow artists, playing video games, and, of course, drawing characters! David also has his commissions open and welcomes to draw other artists’ original characters.
